Hello, and welcome! I’m Jason Redhead, the proud Director of ISM Music Academy. ISM is a family business with a rich history that goes back many years. It all began in June 1998, when my father, Roger Redhead, founded Intersales Music. Over the years, Intersales expanded with an online department, a retail outlet, and a thriving music school offering lessons to the local community.
However, as the internet began to transform the retail landscape and giants like Amazon reshaped the market, Roger decided it was time to close the retail stores in 2013. At this point, he felt it was the right time to step back and passed the music school to me. I rebranded it as ISM Music Academy to better reflect our focus on music education.

Our Growth and Passion for Music
Since then, ISM Music Academy has grown tremendously. Today, our teaching school offers music lessons to over 400 students every week. We also provide school music lessons to 200 students weekly and continue to expand our reach with music-focused holiday clubs and music workshops in residential homes.
Alongside running ISM, I am privileged to serve as the Music Lead for Red Kite Special Academy and Kingsley Special Academy. Supporting and nurturing a love of music in children with special needs is a true passion of mine, and I feel fortunate to work in this space.
In 2023, I was honored to be awarded the Special Needs Music Teacher of the Year by Classic FM, Global Player, and ABRSM. Receiving the award from Myleene Klass and Alexander Armstrong at the Royal Albert Hall was an unforgettable moment and a testament to the incredible journey we’ve had so far.
